What is LEDD?
LaSalle Economic Development District is a governmental entity created in 1988 by the Louisiana Legislature, Act 634. The mission of the organization is to foster sustainable economic and community development throughout LaSalle Parish or as the Board likes to say . . . striving for A Greater LaSalle!
Who is LEDD?
A 19-member Board of Directors representing all incorporated areas of the parish comprises this organization. Board positions are held by the four mayors, a representative of each town, the police jury, the school board, Jena Band of Choctaw Indians and the four local banks. The Board also has four at-large positions. Each member serves a four-year term. Board members receive no compensation for their service.

Executive Director, Community Development:
Cynthia F. Cockerham, Ed.D. serves as Executive Director, Community Development. Cockerham has held this position since January 2011. Cockerham has a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership with a background in youth development, family and consumer science, community development and administration and supervision.
